Meet Our Suppliers: The Jams, Chutneys & More We Stock at Sliced

At Sliced Cake Kitchen, we believe great food starts with great ingredients. From the flour used in our freshly baked bread and pastries to the eggs in our cakes and the coffee poured behind the counter, we carefully choose suppliers who share our love of quality, flavour and great food.

Being based in Honeybourne, near Broadway, means we’re lucky to have some brilliant producers right on our doorstep. We love championing local produce in the Cotswolds, as well as stocking a few carefully selected favourites from further afield. Here are some of the brilliant brands you’ll find behind our bakes, on our shelves and across the counter at Sliced.

The starting point for so many of our bakes is Matthews Cotswold Flour, a family-run flour mill with an incredible heritage. Based in Shipton-under-Wychwood in the Cotswolds, the Matthews family has been trading grain and milling flour for generations, with the current mill dating back to 1912.

Today, Matthews produces a wide range of speciality, organic, regenerative and stoneground flours, combining traditional milling expertise with modern techniques. The business also works with British farmers and places a strong emphasis on provenance and more sustainable approaches to farming.

For a bakery like ours, where flour is at the heart of so much of what we make, choosing quality flour makes all the difference.

Ludlow Farmshop

Our shelves also feature a selection of jams and chutneys from Ludlow Farmshop, an award-winning farm shop based on the Oakly Park Estate, just outside Ludlow. Ludlow Farmshop has a real focus on fresh, seasonal and locally produced food, with many of the products available in the shop made in its own production units.

This includes its range of jams, marmalades, pickles, chutneys and sauces, which are handmade in small batches using traditional methods. Wherever possible, locally sourced ingredients are used, including fruit and vegetables grown on the estate itself.

From fruit jams ready to spread over toast to chutneys and relishes made for pairing with cheese, sandwiches and savoury dishes, they’re exactly the kind of store-cupboard favourites we love having on the shelves at Sliced.

Pimp Your Mayo

Your mayo deserves an upgrade, and Pimp Your Mayo has made it very easy. Rather than creating another bottle of flavoured mayo to take up space in the fridge, Pimp Your Mayo produces seasoning blends that you can mix into plain mayonnaise whenever you fancy something different.

Their range includes flavours such as Garlic & Herb, Chipotle & Lime, Mango & Habanero and Black Truffle & Porcini. Simply mix your chosen seasoning into mayo and you’ve got a completely different sauce.

They’re fun, packed with flavour and perfect for experimenting with at home – whether you’re upgrading a sandwich, dipping your chips or adding something extra to dinner.

Torres Crisps

If you’re picking up lunch from Sliced, you might also spot Torres Crisps on our shelves. Originating from Spain, Torres is known for taking the humble crisp and making it feel a little more special. Their premium potato crisps come in a range of distinctive flavours and have become a favourite for anyone looking for something beyond the usual packet of crisps.

They’re the perfect crunchy sidekick to one of our freshly made sandwiches – and a very easy addition to your lunch order.

Bristol Twenty Coffee Company

The coffee in your Sliced cup comes from independent roastery Bristol Twenty Coffee Company. The family business has decades of combined experience within the coffee and catering industry and began roasting its own coffee in 2014. Today, Bristol Twenty sources green coffee beans from around the world before roasting them in small batches in Bristol, with a focus on quality and freshness.

Responsibility is also important to the roastery, with its range including Organic, Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance certified coffees. So whether you’re ordering your first flat white of the morning, an iced latte or an afternoon pick-me-up, there’s plenty of expertise behind the beans in your cup.

Billy’s Eggs

Another supplier close to home is Billy’s Eggs, a family-run free-range egg producer based in the Cotswolds. Billy’s Eggs started in 2009 with just 90 hens and has grown over the years while maintaining a strong focus on quality, freshness, sustainability and animal welfare.

Its free-range hens are able to roam and forage outdoors, and the eggs are supplied directly from the farm to businesses across the Cotswolds and surrounding areas.

Eggs are an essential part of life in a bakery, appearing in everything from cakes and pastries to savoury creations. Knowing where ours come from and supporting another local business in the process makes them even better.
